Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 15, 2026

Wise Bear Investigations (“Wise Bear,” “we,” “us”) is a licensed private investigation practice operating in the State of Oregon. We understand that the people who contact us are often dealing with sensitive, painful situations. Protecting your privacy is central to how we work. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and how we keep it confidential.

Information we collect

  • Account information — your name, email, and phone number when you create an account.
  • Intake details — the information you provide when describing your situation and the service you need.
  • Evidence you upload — texts, emails, screenshots, documents, and notes you choose to share with us.
  • Payment information — processed securely by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers.
  • Technical data — basic logs needed to operate and secure the site.

How we use your information

  • To evaluate your request and provide the investigative services you engage us for.
  • To communicate with you about your case, including updates and reports.
  • To process retainers and invoices.
  • To meet our legal, licensing, and recordkeeping obligations.

Confidentiality

Your matter is treated as confidential. Access to your case information is restricted to authorized personnel. We do not sell your information, and we do not share the details of your case except as described below.

How we share information

  • Service providers who help us operate — our hosting and database provider, our payment processor, and our email provider — under obligations to protect your data.
  • When required by law — in response to valid legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of an investigation.
  • With your direction — for example, sharing findings with an attorney you designate.

Data retention

We keep case records for as long as needed to provide our services and to comply with legal and licensing requirements, after which they are securely deleted or anonymized.

How we protect your information

Data is encrypted in transit, evidence files are stored in private, access-controlled storage, and database access is governed by row-level security so each client can only access their own information.

Your choices

You can review and update your profile at any time from your portal, and you can request access to or deletion of your information by contacting us, subject to our legal recordkeeping obligations.

Children

Our services are intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect information from children except as part of a lawful investigation engaged by a parent, guardian, or authorized party.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be posted here with a new date.
